nature team days

get your team out of the office — and into the woods

Looking for team building in Edinburgh that feels genuinely different? Nature Team Days are playful, facilitated outdoor experiences that give teams a chance to step away from their usual routines, spend time together in nature, and connect in a different way. There’s no trust falls, no awkward forced fun and no outdoor experience required. What you can expect instead is play, practical challenges, curiosity, conversation and a little bit of silliness — all designed to help your team slow down, interact differently and enjoy being outside together.

what is a nature team day?

Work gives us established roles: someone leads the meetings, someone fixes the problems, someone keeps everyone organised, someone always makes the tea.

Take a team out of its usual environment, though, and something interesting can happen. Nature Team Days create space for people to step outside their everyday roles and experience one another differently.

Through facilitated games, collaborative challenges, sensory activities, practical outdoor skills and moments of reflection, your team gets an opportunity to play, problem-solve, notice, laugh and spend meaningful time together away from screens and everyday responsibilities.

The goal isn’t to manufacture connection, It’s to create the conditions where it can happen.

what can you expect?

Every nature team day is a little different: each session is tailored to the needs of your team, the season, and the location. That being said, the core experience is distinctly bruha! What you, and your team can expect includes:

🌿an intentional gathering space with the goal of bringing you, and your team outside of your existing roles and habits.

🌿facilitated games and play to leave workplace stress behind and move into shared laughter

🌿guided nature and creativity based activities that can stimulate out of the box thinking

🌿opportunities to grow awareness of the natural world, and how time in nature might impact your team’s health and wellness.

designed around your team

nature team days are not an off-the-shelf obstacle course. Before your session, team members are invited to complete a short anonymous intake questionnaire. I’ll use their responses to understand things like:

🌿how the team currently feels

🌿what people would like more of

🌿what may be getting in the way of connection

🌿how comfortable people feel with outdoor activities and play

🌿any accessibility or participation needs

🌿what people hope to get from the experience

I’ll then use those insights to shape the session. That might mean your day needs more laughter and play, more collaboration, more space to slow down, or simply an opportunity to spend time together without talking about work.

Who is outdoor team building for?

Our approach to team building in Edinburgh is designed for organisations and teams who value:

🌿staff connection

🌿wellbeing

🌿play and creativity

🌿learning together

🌿time outdoors

🌿inclusive team experiences

🌿doing something genuinely different from the usual team away day

They are particularly suited to small and medium-sized teams, where the whole group can experience the day together. You don’t need any previous bushcraft or outdoor experience. If members of your team have accessibility requirements or concerns about taking part outdoors, please get in touch. We can talk through the location and activities before deciding whether the experience is right for your group.

growing access together!

Nature Team Days aren’t only intended to support the team taking part. They’re also part of a wider model for making nature-based learning more accessible. Through the Community Nature Fund, bruha natural offerings is developing a way for income from paid programmes to help support free Community Gatherings and subsidised places on future Nature School for Grownups programmes.

As Nature Team Days move from their pilot stage into the paid programme, the intention is for a portion of their income to contribute to this fund. So, eventually, taking your team into the woods will help someone else get there too. The final contribution model for paid Nature Team Days is still being developed.
